The Friendship Cabin is a Charitable organisation and was granted Charitable status (SCIO number SC049320) in May 2019
The Friendship Cabin is an Adult Lunch Club that was formed in April 2018 with a focus on supporting those who suffer financial hardship due to low income or universal credit. Its objective was to provide the opportunity for its members to not only have a healthy two course lunch but have the chance to meet others and participate in some social, educational and physical activities as a group before and after lunch is served. Our activities help increase the members interaction with others which also helps them maintain engagement in community life.
The Friendship Cabin is run by Volunteers under control of Trustees and is currently exploring the use of a crisis fund/voucher system to support those to attend the services without stigma. After initially providing the service on a limited basis it is now successfully operating each Tuesday at The Otters Head and each Thursday at Studio 8 and due to increased demand a further session is opening each Wednesday from the16th October at The Lomond Centre with all these venues being in Glenrothes.
